General Terms and Conditions

The general terms and conditions apply to all bookings, whether made directly or indirectly, with Vakantiepark Ackersate. Vakantiepark Ackersate reserves the right to make changes to the content of its (digital) publications. Obvious (digital) typographical errors do not bind Vakantiepark Ackersate.

Vakantiepark Ackersate is affiliated with Hiswa-Recron, and the RECRON terms and conditions apply to all bookings.

Any agreements deviating from these general terms and conditions are only valid if confirmed in writing.

 

Article 1. Booking Process

  1. The booker is responsible for providing accurate information to ensure the booking process runs smoothly. If incorrect information is provided intentionally, the holiday park reserves the right to cancel your booking without further notice.
  2. Vakantiepark Ackersate only processes bookings from individuals aged 21 and older. The renter must be 21 years or older and be present during the stay.
  3. Vakantiepark Ackersate reserves the right to refuse a booking at any time without providing reasons.
  4. Reservations are confirmed and invoiced digitally within 7 days of receipt. If you do not have an email address, a confirmation and invoice will be sent by post. Upon receiving the confirmation/invoice, you must check it immediately for accuracy. Any inaccuracies or alleged errors must be reported in writing within 7 days of the confirmation/invoice date and before the stay begins. If you have not received a confirmation/invoice after 7 days, please contact Vakantiepark Ackersate.
  5. It is not possible to make a reservation for a period during which rates have not yet been published.

 

Article 2. Price and Price Changes

  1. The price is agreed upon based on the rates applicable at the time, as determined by Ackersate. After receiving the final confirmation/invoice, you are no longer entitled to any discounts and/or promotions. If the final costs differ from the price stated online, you will be contacted.
  2. Multiple discount promotions or a combination of a discount and a package deal cannot be combined. Due to dynamic pricing, the price on the website today may differ from tomorrow’s price. If you have already reserved, this does not entitle you to a refund or other compensation for the price difference.
  3. Vakantiepark Ackersate reserves the right to change prices and/or packages.
  4. All prices are in euros.
  5. All prices include VAT, where applicable, unless otherwise stated.

 

Article 3. Options

  1. Options on a reservation are provided free of charge for a maximum of one week. Options made via the website are standard for 48 hours.
  2. If someone else wishes to book the same period at the same location, contact will be made with the person holding the option. You must then confirm or reject the option within a reasonable time frame (as agreed, but before the option expires).
  3. Any deviations from this booking process must go through the park's management.
  4. An exception to the above rule is when the arrival date falls within the 1-week option period; a maximum option of 24 hours is offered.

 

Article 4. Group Bookings

  1. Bookings for organizations such as associations, schools, and foundations can be made by contacting Vakantiepark Ackersate in writing (info@ackersate.nl).
  2. Special conditions may apply to group bookings, including supervision and location.
  3. The purpose and size of the group may, in certain cases, lead to the group not being accepted.
  4. No rentals are made to youth groups and/or for bachelor parties.
  5. Vakantiepark Ackersate reserves the right to request a deposit.

 

Article 5. Payments

  1. The total amount for the stay must be paid upon arrival.
  2. There are three payment installments:
    • The first installment, amounting to 20% of the total amount, must be paid within 3 days of booking.
    • The second installment, amounting to 30% of the total amount, must be paid no later than five months before the arrival date. If the booking is made within five months of arrival, the first and second installments are combined.
    • The third installment, amounting to 50% of the total amount, must be paid six weeks before the arrival date.If the booking is made within six weeks of arrival, the full amount must be paid in one go.
  3. In the event of a no-show or early departure, the full rental amount is due.

 

Article 6. Vouchers / Gift Cards

  1. Only vouchers and gift cards issued by Vakantiepark Ackersate are valid.
  2. Vouchers are only distributed via email and are explicitly sent to the email address used for the reservation.
  3. Vouchers are valid for two years from the date of issue. Gift cards are valid for one year from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.
  4. If your booking exceeds the value of the voucher or gift card, you must pay the difference.
  5. If your booking is less than the value of the voucher, the remaining value will remain on the voucher with the same expiration date. For gift cards, the remaining value will expire.
  6. Vouchers and gift cards are not redeemable for cash and are non-transferable.

 

Article 7. Cancellations

  1. You can cancel free of charge within 24 hours of booking. After this period, the cancellation policy according to Recron, to which Vakantiepark Ackersate adheres, will apply.
  2. It is advisable to take out cancellation insurance when booking. The cost is €4.24 policy fee + 6.66% premium of the rental amount. In case of cancellation, this amount is non-refundable. The cancellation insurance is provided through an external insurance company. This party will ultimately decide whether the reason for cancellation is valid and whether you will be refunded for your holiday.
  3. If you cancel without cancellation insurance, you owe the following:
    • Cancellation more than three months before the start date: 15% of the agreed price.
    • Cancellation between three and two months before the start date: 50% of the agreed price.
    • Cancellation between two and one month before the start date: 75% of the agreed price.
    • Cancellation within one month before the start date: 90% of the agreed price.
    • Cancellation on the day itself: 100% of the agreed price.

 

Article 8. Changes / Rebooking Guarantee

  1. Changes within 24 hours of booking: If you wish to change the stay period after booking, this can be done free of charge within 24 hours.
  2. Changes up to 72 hours before the reservation start date with rebooking guarantee:
    • Rebooking can be done up to 72 hours (3 days) before the reserved holiday starts.
    • Rebooking can be made to a later date within the same calendar year, subject to availability.
    • The rebooking guarantee can be added to the reservation within 7 days of the booking date.
    • If you use the rebooking guarantee and the newly chosen stay period is more expensive, you must pay the difference.
    • If the newly chosen stay period is cheaper, we will issue the remaining amount as a voucher(s) to be used for the rental price of a future stay at Vakantiepark Ackersate. We do not provide cash refunds for the difference.
    • You are not entitled to any (last-minute) discounts that became available after the first booking date when using the rebooking guarantee.
    • Rebooking to the next calendar year is not possible with the rebooking guarantee. The Recron cancellation terms, as stated on this page, will then apply.
    • If the reservation is ultimately canceled, the rebooking guarantee fee will be fully charged.
  3.  Changes up to 72 hours before the reservation without rebooking guarantee: If you have not used our ‘rebooking guarantee’ option, the Recron cancellation terms, as stated on this page, will apply.
  4. Changes within 72 hours before the reservation: The Recron cancellation terms, as stated on this page, will now apply.
  5. If the holiday is transferred to another person, a €60 administration fee will be charged, and the new guest details must be provided. Ackersate must be aware of the correct guests staying in the park in case of accidents/emergencies. Failure to comply may result in the immediate termination of the reservation or holiday. The primary booker remains responsible for payment to Ackersate at all times.

 

Article 9. Arrival and Departure

  1. At check-in, we may ask for your identification. We will record your personal details and will not use them for commercial purposes.
  2. To provide everyone with the best possible information upon arrival, please mention the reservation number when checking in.
  3. You can access your accommodation from 3:00 PM and your campsite from 2:00 PM. The key will not be provided earlier.
  4. If the guest has not arrived within 24 hours of the agreed date without further notice, this will be considered a cancellation.
  5. You must check out at the reception by 10:00 AM if you have rented an accommodation. For a campsite, you must check out by 10:30 AM. The place/accommodation can then be prepared for the next stay.
  6. If the accommodation is vacated earlier than the agreed rental period, we cannot provide a refund. This also applies to the arrival period.
  7. A final cleaning is mandatory for all accommodations at Vakantiepark Ackersate. The final cleaning fee charged covers normal cleaning costs. If the rental object is excessively dirty during the rental period, additional cleaning costs will be charged.
  8. After your stay, we expect the accommodation to be left as follows:
    • The bungalow/tent/holiday villa is tidied up and vacuumed.
    • The inventory is washed and returned to its original place.
    • The bed linen is removed and placed by the front door.
    • The trash is placed in the garbage container.
    • The refrigerator is, if possible, set to defrost the evening before departure, and the door is left open.
  9. If Ackersate finds that damage has occurred to the rented accommodation and/or other property of Vakantiepark Ackersate during your use and/or that of other users, regardless of whether this was due to your actions or omissions or those of third parties with your permission in the park, you will be liable for all costs that arise from this.

     

Article 10. Access and parking 

  1. Each reservation made includes one parking space for a car. With the exception of the 12-person bungalow, this has two parking spaces at its disposal. 
  2. Parking is only permitted in the designated spaces in the parking lanes. Parking on the road or partially on the road is not permitted, nor is parking on someone else's lot, green spaces or vacant lots.
  3. If you come to Vakantiepark Ackersate with several cars, these can be parked on the (paid) car park on the Harremaatweg. At the reception of Vakantiepark Ackersate you can have the extra car registered on your reservation at a favourable rate.
  4. It is not permitted to allow an unregistered vehicle access to the park in any way or to drive through the barrier one after the other. If we detect this, the registration number will be removed and you will be denied access to the park by car as a result. 
  5. Charging your car is not permitted at the accommodation or camping pitch. Please use our parking spaces with chargers for this purpose.
  6. If the weather conditions are such that damage to the fields may occur, we may prohibit you from driving your car on the fields.
  7. To use a disabled parking space, you need a disabled parking pass. In consultation with reception, a parking space will be reserved for you.

 

Article 11. Stay and nuisance 

  1. Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. a night's rest period applies. Please be considerate of fellow holidaymakers. During this time it should be completely quiet on the premises. Loitering by young people is not permitted between this period. 
  2. All holiday homes are non-smoking.
  3. Alcohol is only permitted in the accommodation.
  4. Drugs, laughing gas and narcotics are prohibited on our park.
  5. Moving cupboards, sound or television equipment or taking any part of the indoor inventory - except dishes, glasses and cutlery for your meal outside - is expressly not permitted.
  6. Keep your pitch, accommodation, terrace and garden free of rubbish, crates of beer and the like.
  7. Placing party tents and similar structures is prohibited.
  8. It is not allowed to use radios, televisions, musical instruments, karaoke sets or other sound generators/amplifiers in such a way that they cause nuisance to other park guests.  
  9. The guest is obliged to keep the accommodation and its immediate surroundings, during the term of the agreement, in the same condition in which the guest received it.
  10. The guest, fellow guests and/or visitors are not allowed to dig on the premises, cut down trees, trim bushes or carry out any other activity of such nature.
  11. Making a campfire or using a fire basket is not permitted at Vakantiepark Ackersate.
  12. To carry out necessary (garden) maintenance, the guest must allow work to be carried out on the accommodation or other facilities during his/her stay without entitlement to compensation.
  13. The stay of more persons in a holiday home or on a camping pitch than agreed on the reservation or the maximum applicable to the accommodation is not permitted without written permission from Vakantiepark Ackersate.
  14. Subletting or commercial short rental activities are not permitted. 
  15. The paid hosting of guests at the park/in the accommodation for the purpose of sexual activities is not permitted. 
  16. The rental ends automatically after the expiry of the agreed period.

 

Article 12: Pets 

  1. Pets are allowed in a limited number of accommodations and on a limited number of camping spots. 
  2. If pets are allowed, a maximum of one pet is permitted. 
  3. Pets must be registered during reservation so that the correct surcharge can be applied. If it is found that pets were not registered, an additional fine of €50 will be imposed, in addition to the regular surcharge.
  4. Pets must be free of fleas and/or other pests. 
  5. Pets must always be kept on a leash and may not be left alone. 
  6. Pets must not cause any disturbance to other guests and must always be under supervision. 
  7. Pets are not allowed in the facilities, such as the toilet buildings, waterfall area, indoor playground, trampoline park, and swimming pool. 
  8. Pets are not allowed on the bed or couch; we ask you to take this into account. 
  9. Pets must be walked outside the park. There is a duty to clean up after them.
  10. Dogs categorized as High-Risk must also wear a muzzle. 
  11. Guests must bring their own dog bed. 
  12. Pets of (day) visitors are not allowed. 
  13. Cats are not allowed.
  14. Guide dogs are allowed, maximum one per reservation. When booking an accommodation, guide dogs are only allowed in the accommodations where dogs are allowed. For access to restaurants, guide dogs must wear a guide vest.

 

Article 13: Traffic 

  1. The Dutch Traffic Regulations apply on our premises. 
  2. Playing children always have the right of way. 
  3. The maximum allowed speed in the park is 10 km/h. 
  4. Motorized vehicles (except for mobility aids) may only be used in the park to drive directly from the entrance to the accommodation and vice versa. 
  5. Playing with (electric) motorized vehicles (fat bikes, electric scooters, hoverboards, etc.) is not allowed due to safety concerns. Driving motorized vehicles is only allowed with a valid driver's license. 
  6. Electric vehicles may move within the allowed speed (10 km/h) in our park if they comply with rule 13.5. 
  7. It is prohibited to park trailers and (trailer) carts in the park. These can only be placed (for a fee) in the parking lot on Harremaatweg. 
  8. Vakantiepark Ackersate is not responsible for any accidents. 
  9. After 11:30 PM, it is no longer possible to enter the park by car. Parking is then available in the (paid) parking lot on Harremaatweg. Please bring your parking ticket to the reception the next morning for validation.

 

Article 14: Waste Disposal 

  1. The park has a recycling station where glass, paper, and household waste are separated. 
  2. Household waste should be disposed of in closed plastic bags in the compactor. 
  3. Items too large for the compactor must be disposed of by the guest outside the park. 
  4. If the containers are full, please report this to the reception so a suitable solution can be found.

 

 

Article 15: Participation in Activities 

  1. Participation in activities is always the responsibility of the parents. 
  2. Your child must be able to understand and follow safety instructions. 
  3. In case of bullying or unwanted behavior, we issue a warning followed by a 10-minute time-out. If your child endangers the safety of others, we will contact you. As a last resort, we may deny access to the animation room or activity. 
  4. We cannot supervise your children before, after, or if they leave the activity early. Please make proper arrangements with your children or provide supervision yourself. 
  5. The app is the guiding tool for the animation program. Weather conditions may cause activity locations to change. Each activity has an age limit, which we strictly adhere to for the children's safety. 
  6. You are responsible for your children's behavior. During quiet hours, your children must respect the peace. 
  7. Smoking is not allowed during activities or as a spectator.

 

Article 16: Use of Facilities 

  1. Use of our facilities is at your own risk. The operator is not liable for any damage resulting from entering and/or using these facilities. 
  2. Vakantiepark Ackersate reserves the right to make changes to the layout and opening hours of the park's facilities. 
  3. Malfunctioning facilities do not entitle the guest to a refund of the reservation fee.

Article 17: Swimming Pool 

  1. Use of the swimming pool is entirely at your own risk. 
  2. Access to the pool is granted via wristbands and/or passes. 
  3. Children under the age of 10 are not allowed in or near the pool without adult supervision. 
  4. Children aged six and older who have a swimming certificate receive their own access to the pool. 
  5. Parents and/or guardians must ensure that non-swimming children wear mandatory floaties and/or a life vest. An adult must always be within reach.
  6. Diving is not allowed in the pool. 
  7. There is no permanent supervision of the pools. For safety, please keep an eye on each other, especially the children. 
  8. Ball games, air mattresses, inflatable boats, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed in the pool or on the beach/grass area near the pool. 17.9 Smoking and the use of glassware are strictly prohibited in both the outdoor and indoor pools.

 

Article 18: Internet and Television Use 

  1. Vakantiepark Ackersate offers every paying guest the possibility to use the internet via a Wi-Fi network or cable. 
  2. Vakantiepark Ackersate is not liable for damage resulting from internet use or network outages. 
  3. Internet users are expected to accept the legal rules. If damage is caused to Vakantiepark Ackersate due to violations, the internet user will be held liable. 
  4. The park offers an extensive digital channel package. To use this, the TV must have a DVB-T tuner with MPEG4 support. Most TVs from 2018 onward have this feature. If the TV does not have this, you can borrow a set-top box from the reception with a deposit. 
  5. The channel package may change at the discretion of Vakantiepark Ackersate. No rights can be derived from this.

 

Article 19: Receiving Visitors 

  1. If you wish to visit Vakantiepark Ackersate for a day without booking a place/accommodation, this is possible. 
  2. Day visitors can park their car in the (paid) parking lot on Harremaatweg. Upon departure, the exit card can be validated with a debit card at the parking machine located in the parking lot. 
  3. If your visitors have goods with them or have mobility issues, you can pick them up or transfer the goods at the parking lot.
  4. Pets of day visitors are not allowed. 
  5. If day guests wish to use the pool, they must purchase an access card at De Vallei. If De Vallei is closed, this can be done at the reception. 
  6. Visitors are allowed to stay on the premises between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. If visitors stay overnight, this must be reported to the reception of Vakantiepark Ackersate. A fee will be charged to the visitor. Please note that if guests stay over, the maximum number of people per place or accommodation must not be exceeded. This number is a maximum of six for camping spots. For accommodations, it is the number of beds available. 19.7 As the main booker, you are responsible and liable for your co-guests (both financially and behaviorally).

 

Article 20: Children's Parties 

  1. It is possible to use the facilities at Vakantiepark Ackersate for children's parties, school trips, or other group activities. This must always be reported and reserved in advance. 
  2.  Groups park in the (paid) parking lot on Harremaatweg and can pay for the facilities at the reception or De Vallei. 
  3. It is not allowed to bring your own food and drinks to parties. 
  4. If groups cause disturbance, Vakantiepark Ackersate may end the party.

 

Article 21: Photo and Video 

  1. Vakantiepark Ackersate takes photo/video material for promotional and security purposes. 
  2. By entering the park, whether as a guest, day visitor, or otherwise, you consent to Vakantiepark Ackersate that you do not mind being (recognizably) in a photo or video. If you do object to this, please indicate this during booking or at the reception during your stay. Vakantiepark Ackersate will try to take this into account as much as possible. 
  3. Photos where you are recognizable can be requested for private use via email from Vakantiepark Ackersate. 
  4. Flying a drone without explicit permission from the management is not allowed. 
  5. No rights can be derived from the images.

 

Article 22: Lost and Found 

  1. Guests must take all personal belongings with them when leaving the accommodation. Any items left behind will be considered lost and found. 
  2. Vakantiepark Ackersate cannot be held liable if 'lost and found' items are not found. 
  3. Lost and found items will be kept for a maximum of 2 months, except for food, socks, and underwear, which will not be kept. During this period, you can collect lost and found items or have them sent to you at your expense. 
  4. To check if an item has been found, you can contact the reception at receptie@ackersate.nl.

 

Article 23. Mail and Packages

  1. It is possible to receive mail or packages at Vakantiepark Ackersate. Please use the park’s address and clearly state your name and accommodation details.
  2. Incoming mail will be ready for collection in the afternoon at the reception’s mail slot.
  3. Receiving mail and packages is entirely at your own risk. Vakantiepark Ackersate is in no way liable for these items.
  4. Outgoing packages must be delivered to a parcel service point by the guest. Outgoing letterbox mail can be taken to a PostNL mailbox by our reception staff.

 

Article 24. Safety

  1. For the safety of our guests, a night watchman may be present for inspections.
  2. Fire extinguishers can be found in the recreation building, reception, laundry, toilet buildings, near the chalets on the lampposts, and at the swimming pool. In any situation, avoid panic and immediately notify the staff.
  3.  Cameras are placed at various locations around the park to protect your and our property. In cases of misconduct, we will first issue a warning, and in the event of theft, the police will be immediately notified. Any costs arising from this are the responsibility of the offender.
  4. The reception provides First Aid services. A defibrillator is available year-round at the reception. During the season, a defibrillator is also available on the outside wall of toilet building 5 and at the farm on the J-year pitches.

 

Article 25. Complaints

  1. If you experience any disturbances, in any form, please report them to the reception or via WhatsApp.
  2. During your stay, it may happen that you experience disturbances or require assistance outside of reception hours. In such cases, we have an emergency service. Please call the regular phone number and listen to the instructions. Use this number only if you cannot resolve the issue yourself and it cannot wait until the reception reopens.
  3. Despite our best efforts to make your stay as pleasant as possible, there is always a chance that something might not meet your full satisfaction. If you believe you have a justified complaint regarding your stay, please report it in writing to Vakantiepark Ackersate. We will do our best to address it accordingly.

 

Article 26. Legal Liability

  1. Vakantiepark Ackersate accepts no liability for theft, loss, or damage of goods. This also applies to accidents or injuries to persons during or as a result of a stay at the park.
  2. Vakantiepark Ackersate cannot be held liable for the malfunctioning or possible shutdown of technical installations, potential closure, or failure of facilities and amenities at our park and any resulting consequences.
  3. Vakantiepark Ackersate cannot be held liable for noise or odor disturbances, any external misfortunes, or terrain conditions resulting from weather influences. Any consequences of these weather conditions and natural circumstances also fall outside our liability.
  4. Vakantiepark Ackersate is not liable for any consequences of participation in activities organized by us, either on or off the premises. All participation is entirely at your own risk.
  5. The main guest, co-guests, and/or visitors must have a valid identification document.
  6. The agreement between you and Vakantiepark Ackersate is governed exclusively by Dutch law.
